A Yorkshire terrier requires daily exercise, 20 to 40 minutes is recommended. They can be a playful breed chasing shadows, laying in sunbeams and playing tug of war. The breed loves attention and is quite strong for a toy breed. They are ideal for small homes due to their size but it is important there is a yard of some sort. This particular breed is very quick to learn. Be careful however as they can become quickly stubborn which will make training of any kind difficult. Therefore make sure training is consistent and firm but make sure to give treats for good behaviour as Yorkshire terriers do not like being ignored.
